Bangladesh to have ladies' T20 World Cup in 2024

Bangladesh will have ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2024, the International Cricket Council declared on Tuesday.

ICC Board has endorsed Bangladesh, India, England and Sri Lanka as the four host nations of ladies' white ball occasions from 2024-2027.

This will be second Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh and first starting around 2014.

The following ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in 2025 will be arranged by India while Sri Lanka will have the ICC Women's T20 Champions Trophy 2027 subject to them fitting the bill for the occasion.

'Getting the facilitating privileges for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 is fabulous information for Bangladesh cricket,' ICC cited Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury as saying in a proclamation.

'For the benefit of the BCB, I make a move to thank the ICC Board for granting this significant ladies' occasion to Bangladesh during when the ladies' down is thriving and extending.

'Particularly, this will be a turning point for ladies' cricket in Bangladesh as the occasion will motivate young ladies and hopeful female cricketers to think ambitiously.

'Our ladies have taken consistent steps in global cricket and this world occasion at home will be an optimal chance to demonstrate the way that we can contend with the best.

Bangladesh has a rich practice of facilitating high profile ICC occasions and I have no questions that we will convey an elite competition in 2024,' he said.
